Marina di Albarese - Parco Regionale della Maremma

The Maremma is a coastal area of western central Italy, bordering the Tyrrhenian Sea. It includes much of south-western Tuscany and part of northern Lazio. It was formerly mostly marsh-land, often malarial, but was drained and reclaimed as part of the Battle for Land under the Fascist régime of the early twentieth century. Parts were repopulated with people from other regions of Italy, notably the Veneto.

It was traditionally populated by the butteri, mounted cattle herders who rode horses fitted with one of two distinctive styles of saddle, the scafarda and the bardella

Siena

Castiglione della Pescaia

Castiglione della Pescaia [kastiʎˈʎone della pesˈkaja], regionally simply abbreviated as Castiglione, is an ancient seaside town in the province of Grosseto, in Tuscany, Italy. The modern city grew around a medieval fortress (Italian: castello) and a large fishery, from which it acquired its designation. Today Castiglione is known mostly for its beaches, a vibrant nightlife, its nature, but also its majestic fortress and the uncontaminated natural reserve Diaccia Botrona, a swampy humid environment hosting unique wildlife, e.g. flamingoes, mallards and ducks.

Il Giardino di Daniel Spoerri

At the beginning of the 90s the Swiss artist Daniel Spoerri started to create a sculpture park in southern Tuscany, about 80 km south of Siena. In 1997 "Il Giardino di Daniel Spoerri" was opened and can be visited from Easter to October. At present, 112 installations of 55 artists are to be found on the approximately 16 hectares of land. In 1997 "Il Giardino di Daniel Spoerri" was recognized as a foundation by the Italian Ministry of Culture and officially opened.
